Meet Dr. Scanameo

Michael Scanameo, M.D. is a board-certified ophthalmologist at Desert Vista Eye Specialists, serving patients in Gilbert, AZ. Dr. Scanameo specializes in anterior segment procedures including leading-edge cataract surgery.

Dr. Scanameo’s services include multifocal and Toric lens implants to correct presbyopia and astigmatism. He provides glaucoma surgery including MIGS with cataract surgery as well as standalone stents and filtering bleb procedures. Superficial keratectomy and endothelial keratoplasty with DSEK and DMEK round out his surgical expertise.

Dr. Scanameo prides himself on providing top-quality eye care in a professional and approachable manner. Dr. Scanameo and his wife have four daughters and a son-in-law. They are now empty-nesters and have decided to move from the Midwest to join Desert Vista Eye Specialists. He enjoys photography, biking, swimming and hiking as well as sampling his wife’s gourmet cooking.
